竹編工藝的精髓在於篾工，不同編織法的竹器，需要不同厚薄寬窄的竹篾，有時甚至需要不同品種、年份的竹材來編織，才能順利完成作品。因此剖篾的刀功，與手感的精準度，非一朝一夕可以學得成。
因此了解竹材特性，是學習竹編的首要功課。阿笠竹工的竹材處理課，涵蓋了技術面、文化素養與設計思維，將給予學員較全面性的學習這門獨特且歷史悠久的文化技藝。

Hands-on creation: Students will make 2 to 3 pieces using bamboo strips they processed themselves (depending on individual preparation progress).
